Other technologies used:
iMovie
I have been using iMovie mostly for the evaluation stage of my blog. I find it really easy to use and navigate around. I did not use this in the production stage as my partner was the editor. When a project in iMovie is complete you can easily share it into a file which saves to your desktop from here you are able to export the video and upload it to YouTube or straight to Blogger.
Glogster
Glogster is a website which allows you to create 'Glogs' a Glog is like a pin board where you can write anything and use lots of different features that it supplies. I found Glogster surprisingly easy to use, it was very easy to navigate and all the features were labelled very clearly so you can see where everything is. I used this as part of one of my evaluation questions I was pleased with the way it turned out and the ease of use.
YouTube
I have been using YouTube to upload videos like the trailer progress and evaluation answers. I upload my videos to YouTube before blogger because it is just so easy to use and relatively quick. I can then embed the video code into blogger. I find that uploading straight to blogger is very time consuming.
Twitter and Facebook
I have been using social networking websites Twitter and Facebook to upload my products and gain audience feedback, this method of getting audience feedback proved very effective as it would post to all my friends and many of them were happy to respond. I also use these websites to keep in touch with my partner so we always knew where we we up to with the trailer.
Poll Junkie
Poll Junkie
I have used Poll Junkie quite a lot during this project it has really helped me get a good amount of audience feedback as you can publish the polls publicly so anybody can view them. I found this website extremely straight forward to use; it is free and you don't have to sign up. You then simply type out your questions and then share it online.
SlideShare
Slide Share is an online service which allows you to convert your powerpoint or Keynote presentations into embed-able files. This is very easy and simple as the website pretty much does all the work for you. Once it has finished converting you can then embed the presentation into Blogger.
Canon 1100D DSLR
We began filming with this camera and had a finished trailer but after looking back at it the quality of the video was not very good, this was something our audience pointed out to us as well when we asked for feedback. So we had to re-film. Other than it not giving us the best quality the camera was relatively simple to use all the buttons have writing or icons on them so its quite clear what each one does.
Canon EOS M
This is the camera that we decided to use to re-film on. This camera produced much better quality videos. This camera is again relatively easy to navigate around as it is the same brand as the Canon 1100D.
5SecondsApp
5SecondsApp is a smartphone app which creates gifs. I used this app to make a gif for one of my evaluation questions. It is very straight forward to use all you have to do is record someone for 5 seconds and the app then turns that video into a gif. You can then from the app share the gif to any social networking site, email or text/iMessage.
WhatsApp
I used WhatsApp a lot during this project it came in very handy when asking for audience feedback as I can send images for free so my friends could see my poster and magazine and give me feedback. WhatsApp is very easy to use as it looks just like any other messaging service.
